The FPINCH segment runs from Rte. 111 to the Boxborough line near Summer Street. The upstream section B flows quickly near a residential area with a sandy bottom. The next section is much wider than shown on the survey map, apparently as the result of recent beaver activity. Flooding encompasses many mature trees. There is a private dump at the edge of this water. Further downstream, between the beaver dams and Rte. 111 is a well-established untrammeled wetland with slow flow and a muddy bottom, running through Acton Water District land.
In general FPINCH is in excellent condition, with little obvious degradation by human activity. The private solid waste dump, and the half-buried car engine (both marked on the map) are the two items noted that would benefit from cleanup, although there appears to be no fresh dumping going on.
